Reset and freeze transformations

When you transform an object, Maya stores its position information in a transform node as the difference from its original (zero) position. If you want to set an object's transformation values back to zero or set another starting position, use these menu items to control the saved transformation information for an object:

To... Do this

Reset transformations on the selected object back to zero (return to first or last “frozen” position).

Select Modify > Reset Transformations. If you select Modify > Reset Transformations > , you can choose to not reset Translate, Rotate, or Scale values.

Make the selected object’s current transformations be the zero position.

Select Modify > Freeze Transformations. If you select Modify > Freeze Transformations > , you can set Freeze Transformations Options.
