To add objects to an existing LOD level
(For example, if you have your character geometry in an LOD group, and want to add the character's weapon in the same structure.)
- Select the objects to add.
- In the
Outliner or
Hypergraph, middle-drag to reparent the objects under the LOD sub group you want.
- Zoom in and out to test the LOD switch.
To add a new level
- In the
Outliner, select an existing level in your LOD_Group.
- Select
Edit > Duplicate from the main menu bar.
This creates a new level within the group, with a unique name. Delete any duplicated child mesh for your new level.
- To add a new object to the level, middle-drag the object target LOD_n node using either the Hypergraph or
Outliner.
Tip: You can also simply ungroup (
Edit > LOD (Level of Detail) > Ungroup LOD Group in the main menu bar, or
on the
General shelf) and regroup objects to add or reorder the levels.
To re-order levels
- Do either of the following:
Note: If you reorder multiple children of a level of detail node in the
Hypergraph, the threshold values can change unexpectedly. It's better to use the
Outliner to reorder children.
- Rename the level sub-groups to represent their new order.
This helps to keep a clear correspondence to the threshold values in the
Attribute Editor.
