Configure the license server on Windows

Use the LMTOOLS utility to configure the license server for your Network license on a Windows machine.

Create a debug log file

Debug log files contain Network License Manager (NLM) history information you can review to troubleshoot problems with your license servers.

  1. Create a folder named Logs in a shared location that can be written to by all users.

Note: The debug log file must be stored in a folder that can be written to by all users, such as C:\Users\Public, or a folder that you have shared with all users.
  2. Use a text editor to create a text file within the Logs folder.

  3. Give the text file any name you like, but be sure to change the extension from .txt to .log.
