The following features are new with this release:
Until now, only Midplane and Dual Domain analyses supported velocity-controlled valve gates. The Moldflow Insight 2025 release enables the analysis of velocity-controlled valve gates on beam elements for 3D Flow.
A Cooling channel optimization analysis producing 3D printable cooling channels has been included to alter cooling channel layouts, reduce cavity surface temperature and cycle time, and improve part quality. An optimally designed cooling system can result in considerable savings in cycle time.
Starting with an existing cooling circuit layout, during a Cooling channel optimization analysis, the software automatically determines where the cooling is too effective (too close to the part) or ineffective (too far away from the part). It moves the cooling channels as appropriate, whilst ensuring the structural integrity of the mold by maintaining a safe distance from each other, the cavity and the mold boundaries.
In 3D injection-compression molding, you can optionally specify a press opening phase before the press closing (compression) phase.
In 3D injection-compression molding and compression molding, Press position: XY Plot is added as a default result. The new press position result is not included in the list of default results for studies created before this release. Instead, you can add it manually with the New Plot button.
The press position value replaces the press displacement value in the analysis log for both the 3D injection-compression molding and compression molding processes.
You will now be able to export a Moldflow midplane mesh or 3D mesh with as-molded material data in Scalaris Zip (SDZ) format. This new format contains all the necessary data required for a comprehensive structural analysis. Refer to Export to SDZ.
When the second unit system is enabled , results will be displayed with the default units and the secondary unit system that is specified. ie. Metric and US English Units.
