To choose and customize a report template

HTML and Excel templates provide formats for inspection and customer information.

Report templates control the layout and heading information displayed along with measurement results in the Report tab of the Graphics window. A default report template is selected when you first use PowerInspect, but an assortment of HTML and Excel templates are available.

To choose a template for the report:

  1. On the ribbon, click Report tab > Control panel > Report Parameters.
  2. Use File Explorer to browse to Program Files > Autodesk > PowerInspect > file > templates.
  3. Choose an HTML template from the HTML folder or Excel template from the Excel folder.
  4. In the Value column, type your custom entries for fields listed in the Name column. To revert to the original template values, click Reset to defaults.
  5. To specify how graphics and probe paths are displayed in the report:
    1. Click Options.
    2. In the Report Options dialog, optionally select one or more of the following options:
      • Show probed points. Enables reporting of individual measured points.
      • Hide background of screenshots. Excludes image backgrounds.
      • High resolution of screenshots. Creates screenshots with the same quality as that of CAD view printing. Deselecting this option gives screenshots with the same quality as the CAD View Print Preview.
  6. Select Save as default parameters if you want to use these values as the defaults for new inspections.
You can also access report templates from the Measure tab.
  1. Click Measure tab > Current panel > Parameters.
  2. In the Measure Parameters dialog, select the Report tab.
Note: Using the PowerInspect Template Editor, you can create customized report templates. For example, you can insert a company logo into a template.
