PowerInspect checks for any potential security concerns when an action is driven by the PowerInspect automation interface, for example, when loading add-ins. If there are any security concerns, such as an untrusted source, PowerInspect prompts you for permission to continue:

Note: Security checks are also performed if you are using the PowerInspect automation interface to load CAD files, report templates, protocol scripts, custom scripts, and parser scripts for OMV (On Machine Verification) importing.

Trusting the file allows it to run and adds it to a list of trusted files so that the security prompt does not appear the next time you run the same file. Not trusting a file prevents it from running on your device and causing potential harm. Trusting the directory means any files run from this directory in the future are considered safe.

Trusted files — When files are trusted, they are added to the trusted files list. From here, if necessary, you can remove the files that were previously trusted.

Trusted directories — You can add trusted directories to this list. Any files that are located within this directory are considered safe and do not get checked for potential harmful commands.

Enable — If necessary, deselect this checkbox to turn off the security checks. It is recommended to keep the checks turned on to help keep your device safe.
