To display the measuring device in the CAD view

Display the machine model.

Note: You can specify a machine model only when creating inspections for CNC and OMV machines.

1. In the Machine tab, in the Machine area, click Change Model.
2. Use File Explorer to browse to Program Files > Autodesk > PowerInspect > file > cmm.
3. Choose an .mtd model from the list.
   If you do not have a model of your measuring device, you can:

   • Choose No_model.mtd to load a generic model, which contains only a small part of a quill but has a large volume.
   • Create a custom model .mtd file. For help with creating or obtaining a custom model file, contact Technical Support.
4. Click Open. A graphical representation of the measuring device you selected is displayed in the CAD view.

   You can manipulate the view of the machine model using the standard methods specified in the CAD View tab.
