Use the Point-Cloud tab > Display panel > Highlight Back-Facing Points option to display the back- and front-facing points of a point-cloud in different colours. This enables you to create an improved three-dimensional view of a point cloud and helps emphasize holes in the cloud.
Note: The Highlight Back-Facing Points option is available only when creating inspections for CNC and Manual machines.
The following example shows the differences between a point cloud without highlighting
and with highlighting
.
Note: The direction from which the cloud is scanned determines the front face of the point-cloud.
To highlight the back face of a point-cloud:
- In the inspection sequence, select the Point-Cloud item's entry.
- Unproject the point-cloud.
- Select Point-Cloud tab > Display panel > Highlight Back-Facing Points. The back-facing points are displayed in the
Back-facing point
colour specified in the
Options dialog.
- To cancel highlighting, deselect Highlight Back-Facing Points.
