To use the tolerance database

Create tolerance bands. Apply tolerance bands to measured points and linear dimensions.

Use the tolerance database to create tolerance bands. These tolerance bands are available to use across items and inspections.

Create a tolerance band

1. In an item or group dialog, click Define Tolerance for the measurement for which you want to create a tolerance band.
2. For Name, enter a name for the tolerance band.
3. For Low Tol and High Tol, enter the low and high values for the tolerance range.
4. Click New to add the band to the list.

Apply a tolerance band

You can apply tolerance bands to measured points and linear dimensions.

For a linear dimension, the Limits and Fits dialog displays the tolerance bands you defined and the appropriate tolerance bands from the ISO 286 and ISO 2768 standards. The ISO 286 entries depend on the item type and the entry selected for the item in the Material Side list. The sizes of the tolerances depend on the size of the nominal for the measurement.

1. In an item or group dialog, click Define Tolerance for the measurement.
2. Click the tolerance band to apply, and then click Select.
