To select point-cloud points using a cut plane

To select the points on one side of a plane drawn through a point-cloud:

1. Display the point-clouds in the CAD view.
2. Click Point-Cloud tab > Select panel > Pick Mode > Cut Plane.
3. In the CAD view, click two points to specify the position of the plane.

   PowerInspect calculates a plane perpendicular to the view passing through the points. For example:

   

4. Click the side of the plane that contains the points you want to select.

   The points are displayed in white to indicate they are selected. For example:

   

Tip: Click Invert to flip the selection to the other side of the plane. To cancel the selection, press the Esc key.
