Geometric Items page (Options Dialog)

Control how the offset or thickness of an item is specified and to choose whether distance and angle measurements are displayed as absolute values.

The following options are displayed.

• Calculate from measurement default — Use your measurements to calculate the average height of all 2D items relative to their reference plane.

  Clear to specify the Offset/Thickness in each item's dialog.

• Hide sign information — Hide the sign and report the measurements as absolute values.

  Some distance and angle items (Relative Position, Two Points and Angle, and Two Planes) report measurements as positive or negative values relative to the vector of their reference plane.

  Note: You can override this setting for an individual item using the Hide Sign Information box in the item's dialog.
• Evaluate from nominal — Default values used to extract point-cloud features using nominals.
  • Search distance — Maximum distance from the nominal position of the features to search.
  • Depth — Distance from the plane of 2D features at which scanlines are considered.
