View tab > Appearance panel > Shade > Shaded Wireframe

Select the Shaded Wireframe option to display the wireframe, and to apply shading and lighting effects so surfaces appear solid.

To use the Shaded Wireframe option:

1. Display the surfaces you want to shade.
2. Select View tab > Appearance panel > Shade > Shaded Wireframe. For example:

   

This is the same as clicking the Shaded Wireframe button on the Views toolbar.

Note: On operating systems which do not support hardware graphics acceleration, redraws are slow during rotations, and shading of complex models can take a considerable time.
