Layer Setup
- Component/Layer grid
-
Specifies the layer on which each ortho component appears.
Note: Linetype is dictated by the layer, and you can specify the linetype in the AutoCAD Layer settings.
- Use 3D Model Layers
-
Ignores all selections in the layer setup table and instead uses the same layering scheme as the model. Colors and linetypes are applied BYLAYER. When you choose to use 3D model layers in Ortho Generation Settings from Project Setup, ortho objects adopt the same layering scheme as the 3D model.
If your 3D models are created by converting AutoCAD blocks that contain multiple layers, the resulting ortho views will represent all the layers, allowing you to differentiate individual parts of the object. You can change individual layers in ortho drawings to control different parts on the objects.
Additionally, if your 3D models are imported from other products such as Advance Steel, AutoCAD Architecture, AutoCAD MEP, and others, the embedded layers in these models are reflected in the ortho drawings. You can still change individual layers in ortho drawings to control different parts on the objects, regardless of the source of 3D models.
- Layer names only. Ortho objects inherit the layer names from the 3D model. Customize layer properties such as color, linetype, and lineweight using the Layer Properties Manager in ortho drawings.
- Layer names and properties. Ortho objects inherit both the layer names and properties from the 3D model. The layer properties in the ortho drawings, such as color, linetype, and lineweight, remain the same with those defined in the 3D models.
- Designate Small Bore Piping As Less Than And Including
- Specifies the size at or under which piping is treated as small bore for layering purposes.
