Prepare the Model for Lighting Analysis

Set the location and weather station for your model. Verify the reflectivity and transparency of materials in your model.

For the best results when performing a lighting analysis, first prepare the model.

  1. Set the location of the model. Location and Site Dialog: Location Tab
  2. Edit the appearance (change the RGB color value) to set the visible transmittance (Tvis) of transparent materials and the reflectivity of opaque materials.
Note: For detailed information on material settings see the Lighting Analysis PDF: PDF file: Insight Lighting Analysis.

Once you have prepared the model, you will be able to complete any of the analysis types with accurate results.
