Translucency for Appearance Assets

For an appearance asset, specify properties to simulate light passing through a material.

Use the appearance asset to define how a material renders in an image or a view. For instructions, see Edit an Asset.

To apply the Translucency properties to the appearance asset, select its check box.

Depth

Increase or decrease the translucency effect of the material. The value corresponds to the scattering mean free path and is always expressed in millimeters. A value of zero results in no translucency.

Enter a value between 0 and 10 mm, or use the slider.

Weight

This property enables color variations for the translucency effect. The Weight color is used to alter the absorption depth for each RGB color. For best results, use light and soft colors.
