Emissivity for Appearance Assets

For an appearance asset, specify luminance and color properties to determine the quality of light that emanates from a material.

Use the appearance asset to define how a material renders in an image or a view. For instructions, see Edit an Asset.

To apply the Emissivity properties to the appearance asset, select its check box.

Luminance

Specified in candelas per square meter (cd/m2), this parameter determines how bright a material appears and how much light is emitted from it.

Luminance is a fixed value, but the total light emission depends on the surface. The same material on an object twice as big results in a 2X brighter light.

Filter Color

This parameter influences the emissivity color. Use it to create variations in the emissivity to simulate lamp shades, opalescent materials, and so on.
