Energy Family Parameters

When creating an energy family parameter, specify the parameter type in the Parameter Properties dialog.

In the Family Editor, click Create tabProperties panel (Family Types). In the Family Types dialog, under Parameters, click Add. For Discipline, select Energy. For Type of Parameter, select one of the following.
Name Description
Energy Use to represent the consumption of power.
Coefficient of Heat Transfer Rate of heat transfer between two objects or materials per unit area and unit of temperature difference.
Thermal Resistance Rate at which an object or material resists heat flow per unit length and unit of temperature difference.
Thermal Mass Ratio of heat added to an object or material and the resulting temperature change.
Thermal Conductivity Rate at which an object or material conducts heat flow per unit length and unit of temperature difference.
Specific Heat Amount of heat required to raise the temperature of an object or material by one unit of temperature per unit of mass and unit of temperature difference.
Specific Heat of Vaporization Amount of heat required to change the state of a material from liquid to gas per unit of mass.
Permeability Rate of moisture transfer between two objects or materials per unit area and per unit of pressure.
