Orient a 3D View

Using the ViewCube, you can orient a 3D view to any plan, elevation, section or 3D view in the model.

You can orient the view to a direction that corresponds to the project coordinates. For example, orienting North to True North. You may want to orient a 3D view when creating an exploded view of a model, for instance.

If you are using the ViewCube in the Family Editor, or are using it in the Type Properties preview window, you can orient to a direction. Direction corresponds to Front, Back, Left, Right, Top, Back Left Isometric, Back Right Isometric, Front Left Isometric, and Front Right Isometric.
