The display of structural components differs based on the detail level of the view.
For example, structural framing appears as sticks in coarse detail level, but has much more detail at medium or fine detail level. Detail Level is a view instance parameter; therefore every view can have a different setting for this parameter.
Detail Level is also view scale dependent.
In structural views set to coarse detail level, when framing families have Material for Model Behavior set to Steel and Wood placed in the project, all geometry and lines set to display in coarse detail level will display through slabs and floors.
Families with Material for Model Behavior set to Concrete, Precast Concrete, and Other will not display through the slab and can be shown as hidden lines.
