The Revit data that is stored in the relational databases can be edited and imported back into the model.
Importing data from MS Access
- Select a recently used database or create a new connection, and click Edit and Import.
- If you selected Create a new connection, the Select database dialog displays. Select a MS Access database to import from.
- The Edit Database before Import dialog displays. Select any existing table from the database, and, if desired, edit its data.
Note: The properties that can be edited in Revit should be available for editing in the database environment, and for subsequent import into the source Revit model.
- Click OK to import the data into Revit.
- After the import completes, an HTML page displays showing the results of the import process. Save or close this window.
The changes are reflected in the Revit model.
Importing data from ODBC
- Select a recently used data source, or create a new connection, and click Edit and Import.
- If you selected Create a new connection, the Select database dialog displays. Select a data source to connect to.
- The Edit Database before Import dialog displays. Select any existing table from the database, and, if desired, edit its data.
Note: The properties that can be edited in Revit should be available for editing in the database environment, and for subsequent import into the source Revit model.
- The Custom Parameters menu allows you to add new Revit Shared Parameters to the selected table.
- Click OK to import the data into Revit.
- After the import completes, an HTML page displays showing the results of the import process. Save or close this window.
The changes are reflected in the Revit model.
