Create a Baseline Linear Dimension Style

To add a baseline dimension for a linear dimension style, you need to edit the Dimension String type parameter. Create a new baseline linear dimension style so that any continuous dimensions in the project are not affected when you edit the parameter.

1. Click Annotate tabDimension panel (Aligned) or (Linear).
2. Click Modify | Place Dimensions tabProperties panel (Type Properties).
3. In the Type Properties dialog, click Duplicate.
4. In the Name dialog, enter a name for the dimension, such as Baseline Linear-3/32” Arial, and click OK.
5. In the Type Properties dialog, for Dimension String Type, select Baseline, and click OK.

The new dimension style displays in the Type Selector. You can now use this baseline dimension style when adding an aligned dimension or a linear dimension to a drawing.
