Create an area scheme and apply it to an area plan to analyze space and area requirements.

When performing an area analysis, you can create area schemes to analyze the model in different ways.
On the View tab, click Plan Views, and select Area Plan. In the Area Plan dialog, select the type. By default, 2 types are available: Gross Building and Rentable. In this example, we will first make a gross building area plan. After selecting the type, select Level 1, and click OK.
To automatically create boundary lines on the exterior walls of the plan and place an area for the gross building, click Yes. The software creates the area plan. Use a similar process to create a rentable area plan of the same level. Notice that, in the Project Browser, the different area plan types are organized under different headings.
To create a different kind of area plan, you must first create a new area scheme.
On the Architecture tab, click the arrow on the Room and Area panel, and select Area and volume computations. On the Area Schemes tab, click New to create a new area scheme. Give the scheme a name and description, and click OK.
Now when you create a new area plan, you can pick the new scheme from the type list.
