The Revit Switcher tool allows you to change your Revit environment from Commercial Revit to Autodesk for Government and back again.
This video demonstrates the following:
To use Autodesk for Government with Revit, you must first switch to the Autodesk for Government environment. The switcher is a self-contained application that you must run to change to the Autodesk for Government environment.
You can find the switcher application in the location where Revit is installed. Either run it from that location, or, as in this example, use a shortcut to the application created on the desktop. Double-click the shortcut to run the application. In the dialog window, select "Make Current" next to the Autodesk for Government selection. A confirmation message will be displayed to confirm that you have switched to the Autodesk for Government environment. Click "OK" to continue. Notice that in the switcher application window, Autodesk for Government is marked as "Current."
Now launch Revit. When Revit starts you will receive a message in a browser window you are accessing Autodesk for Government. Click "Accept" to continue. Now log on using your Autodesk ID. Note, you must have entitlement to Autodesk for Government to log on. Once logged on, click "Go to Product".
Once Revit is open, you can work as usual. You can access models using Revit Cloud Worksharing or save new models to the cloud to share with others who have Autodesk for Government entitlement. Note that when working in the Autodesk for Government environment, some features will be disabled. If you attempt to use one of these features, such as Cloud Rendering, you will receive a message indicating that this feature is not available in this environment.
To work on commercial projects, it is necessary to switch the environment back. When you are finished working on an Autodesk for Government project, close Revit and run the switcher application again to change your environment back to "Commercial."
