Export an Autodesk Fabrication Job File

Export a fabrication job (.MAJ) from Revit and open it in an Autodesk Fabrication product. For example, you may want to export fabrication parts from Revit to Fabrication ESTmep for costing, Fabrication CAMduct for manufacture, or Fabrication CADmep for documenting additional detail, such as tags, spools, and reports.

  1. In Revit, open a fabrication layout and select the parts you want to export.
Note: Revit families are not saved to a fabrication job even if they are selected.
  2. Click Modify | MEP Fabrication Ductwork tabOutput panelExport Job File.
  3. If desired, navigate to the location where you want to save the file and enter a new file name.
  4. Click Save.

Revit displays a message with the number of fabrication parts that were saved.

Note: When you use Revit Extension for MEP Fabrication, only part geometry and data is exported; annotation is not exported.
