Let’s look at the Asset Manager. Right-click within the Quick Access Bar area. When selecting Asset Manager from the list, notice the pin. Select it to add the Asset Manager to the Quick Access Bar for future use. Within the Asset Manager, click the Materials tab, then open the Autodesk VRED Assets and Carpaints folders, to find materials you like.
To assign a material directly to selected geometry, right-click the material and choose Apply to Select Nodes or use the shortcut Ctrl + M.
To add an assortment of materials, drag and drop them directly into the Group Preview of the Material Editor. From here, you can drag and drop materials onto geometry in the Render Window or right-click a material and choose Apply to Select Nodes or use the shortcut Ctrl + M.
Within the Asset Manager, you will notice a local folder for assets. Use this to create your own library of assets. Right-click for an assortment of options, including one for creating a folder.
To assign materials to your custom library, simply drag and drop materials from the Material Editor onto the created folder. Also, material libraries can be imported by right-clicking and selecting Import.
