View a demo on variants and touch sensors in VRED.
For additional information on touch sensors, see the following:
Video captions: Open the Scene Graph, via the Quick Access bar, and select the desired geometry from your scene. In the main menu bar, under Interaction, call up Touch Sensor. Drag your selected geometry, via drag and drop, into the Touch Sensor module. Open the Variance Sets module and create a new variant set, via the sub menu of the module, which you can reach by clicking the right mouse button. Drag the switch material assigned to the geometry to the Material tab of your variant set. You can find more information on switch materials in the Materials tutorial section, Switch Materials. In the Materials tab, under State, you define what order the materials, which were assigned to the switch material are switched. Select New Loop to switch the materials in sequence. Subordinate the variant set with drag and drop to your top sensor node. Also, all possible variant set types and multiple variant sets can be controlled by the top sensor. By selecting the geometry functioning as a sensor node in the render view, all materials assigned to the switch material are changed in sequence.
