VRED 2023.4

Important:

For Windows users, 2023.4 requires an NVIDIA RTX driver v.511.65 or above.

For Linux users, 2023.4 requires an NVIDIA driver v.510.47.03 or above.

What's New in 2023.4 and General Improvements

OpenXR

Due to more HMDs adapting OpenXR, we've added support for it. OpenXR is the new open standard for XR (VR/AR/MR) applications and boosts your experience, and for this release of VRED, works with VR devices, tethered or not. It also includes hand tracking to controller input simulation, so that devices using OpenXR can also use hand tracking directly in VRED.

Tonemapping for VRED Design

We have added tonemapping support to VRED Design. In the Camera Editor > Image Processing > Tonemapping section, you will find the Physical Camera, Luminance, and Illuminance Tonemapper options. The CameraCurves folder is now included in VRED Design installation and can be used for loading a custom response curve for tonemapping of physical cameras.

General Improvements

Here are the GPU Raytracing, Importance Map, and Cluster improvements found in 2023.4.
