Purge Items in a Vault from the Autodesk Data Management Server Console

Purge item versions in a vault based on the item's lifecycle state control settings.

Note: Items are available in Vault Professional.

You can purge items from the ADMS Console or the Autodesk Vault Client.

Note: Purging items from the ADMS Console performs a vault-wide purge, whereas purging items from the Vault Client requires you to select specific items for purge.

When a lifecycle state is created, the administrator must identify which item and file versions in that state are retained during a purge.

For example, a lifecycle state can be defined so that all item versions in the Review State are purged except for the latest version when the Purge command is invoked.

If an item does not have a lifecycle assignment, the tip version of each item revision is retained and all other item versions are purged.

Purge Items from the Autodesk Data Management Server Console

  1. In the ADMS Console, select the vault for which you want to purge item versions.

  2. Select Actions > Purge Items.

  3. Click OK to confirm the purge.

    All item versions are purged based on their lifecycle control settings.
