STEP Publish Location

Create STEP (.stp) for CAD drawing files and specify a desired location outside of Vault Client.

Note: You must have administrative access to perform these tasks.

  1. Click Tools > Administration > Vault Settings.

  2. In the Vault Settings dialog, click the Files tab.

  3. In the STEP Options area, click Define... to open the STEP Publish Location dialog.

  4. In the STEP Publish Location dialog select the desired option:

    1. Save in Vault (local copies will not be created): Disables to publish STEP files locally. Automatically generated STEP files are still created in the Vault Client.
    2. Save on a local drive in one folder: Select to store all the STEP files in a single folder on the local computer.
    3. Save on a local drive using the Vault folder structure: Select to store local copies of the files in a folder structure that duplicates the structure used in Vault Client.

  5. If you select Save on a local drive in one folder or Save on a local drive using the Vault folder structure, click the Browse button and select a shared network folder which is accessible to all users.

  6. Click OK.
