Create a File from CAD files

Learn how to create a copy of DXF, PDF, or STEP (STP) file using a CAD file.

When using this command, you can create DXF, PDF and STEP (STP) files without going through lifecycle state change for a CAD file.

Note: You must have appropriate access given by your administrator to access Create (DXF, PDF, STEP) command in the different access points.

  1. Select the CAD file for which you want to manually create file.

  2. Right-click, and select Create > Create (DXF, PDF, STEP). Or, select the command from the toolbar.

    Alternatively, in the toolbar, click Actions > Create, and select the Create (DXF, PDF, STEP) command.

    *Important: * Create DXF, Create PDF, and Create STEP commands are available only for the latest version of the file and not for any historical version/revision of the CAD files.

Note: As an Administrator, you must enable the file creation checkbox in the DXF, PDF, and STEP Options section of the Vault Settings dialog in order to use the Create file capability.
