Intrinsic BOM Row Properties

Learn about the intrinsic BOM row properties available in Vault.

There are five intrinsic BOM row properties:

Detail ID

An identifier for the BOM row. This value is not necessarily related to the order in which the rows are presented.

Since it is often necessary to re-order rows but to maintain a unique ID for each individual row for documentation purposes, the Detail ID allows you to track your BOM rows, regardless of their order in the BOM.
Row Type

Displays whether the BOM row was added manually or imported from a CAD file.
Unit QTY

This is the unit size.
Item QTY

This is the number of items in the row.

Important: Both Unit QTY and Item QTY properties can be edited for both CAD imported and Manual rows. However, if you edit a CAD imported row, the modified values are overwritten with the values from the CAD file the next time the item is updated.

Tip: Add custom or intrinsic BOM row properties so that they are visible in the BOMs by Customizing the BOM view.
