Configure Vault Options for the Inventor Vault Add-in

Configure status icons, enable automatic file numbering, and manage prompts for the Inventor Vault add-in. You can also suppress certain dialogs for a faster workflow.

Dialog Suppression

You can suppress common dialogs so that certain Vault operations are performed automatically without displaying a dialog. You can also specify your preferred settings for the operation so that there is no need to directly configure preferences with each occurrence. Refer to Suppress Dialogs in the Inventor Vault Add-in for more information.

  1. Turn on the check box next to a dialog box name to suppress that dialog.
  2. Click Settings to configure the Check In settings to control how files are stored in Vault, and .dwf attachment options.
  3. Click OK.

Exclude Paths

You can specify the folder path that you'd like to exclude during check in.

Note: Excluding the folder path may lead to the loss of data during check in to Vault.

Manage Distributed Options

Use the Manage Distributed Options dialog to define, distribute and manage all the defined options.

Note: You must have an "Administrator" or "Configuration Administrator" role to manage and deploy distributed options.

Distributed Options – Inventor Vault Add-in

  1. Select Vault Options from the Autodesk Vault ribbon.

  2. Configure status icons, enable automatic file numbering, and manage prompts for the Inventor Vault add-in. You can also suppress certain dialogs for a faster workflow.

  3. Click Apply to save the changes.

  4. Click Manage Distributed Options to select the options to distribute.

  5. You can distribute:

    • Use large status icons
    • Generate file numbers for drawing and presentation files
    • Configure prompts
    • Dialog and Suppression Settings
  6. Click the checkbox beside the option you want to distribute.

  7. Click Apply to distribute the options.

Reset Distributed Options

  1. Click Reset

  2. Click on the check box beside the option you want to reset

  3. Click on Reset… to System default or Reset… to Distributed option to immediately trigger the reset action and return to non-reset mode.

    • Reset to System default: Restore the system default options
    • Reset to Distributed option: Reset the settings to the distributed option level.
  4. Click on Apply to save and distribute the current distributed options. This option is only available for Administrator and Configuration Administrator.

  5. Click OK to apply and close the dialog.
