The Vault Browser in Autodesk Inventor

Use the Vault Browser to view the status, lifecycle state, and other pertinent Vault details about open files.

Tip: When working with a design team on the same project, files might be checked out to other team members or the version in the vault could be more recent than the version on which you are about to work. Refresh the Vault browser to see the current status of loaded files.

Refresh the Vault Browser in Autodesk Inventor

The Vault browser in Autodesk Inventor is updated to reflect the current state of the files in the vault. No model data is updated.

Use the quick search field to find:

Note: Use the Choose Properties dialog to add Vault properties, and then you can search the value of those properties.

Note: You can edit features and files directly from the search results.
Note: A search will be cleared automatically when performing certain Inventor tasks such as editing a part or using the Find in Browser command.

Filter the Vault Browser

You can filter the files listed in the Vault Browser by accessing the Filter menu.

You can also select Vault Status or Local Files to select all of the options in that category.

Note: This feature is available in Autodesk Vault Collaboration and Professional editions.

Configure Which Vault Properties Show

You can configure which Vault Properties are displayed in the Vault Browser.

  1. Click the Choose Properties icon in the Vault Browser.

  2. On the Choose Properties dialog, select the properties that you want to display after the file name and click Add->.

    You can re-order how properties display by moving them up and down in the Show these fields in this order list.

    Select a property in the Show these fields in this order list and click <-Remove to hide that property.

  3. Click OK to save your changes.

The file properties are appended to the file name in the browser.
