Merging polygons

The merge polygons functionality is used to combine a pair of polygons into a single polygon. Only polygons of the same type can be merged.

To merge polygons

1. Select exactly two contiguous polygons of the same type on the GeoPlan window.
2. Select GeoPlan Merge polygons. This displays the Merge Polygons dialog.
3. In the Merge Polygons dialog:
   • Enter a name for the new combined polygon in the New polygon name field.
   • Choose which of the selected polygons will provide the properties for the new polygon from the Copy properties from list.
   • Check the Remove old polygons option to delete the original selected polygons on creation of the new polygon.
4. To carry out the merge, click OK.
