Setting digitisation options

InfoWorks WS Pro includes facilities for rapidly adding nodes and links to the GeoPlan without having to name each object or view the object property sheet.

Turning on automatic node naming

This is used to name each node as it is created. The node name can be based on node location or a user specified custom pattern.

1. From the Network menu, choose Network options.
2. Select the Node Name Generation page.
3. Choose a node naming option.

To set default values for object creation

Digitisation templates can be used to set default values for object parameters. The default values are applied to the objects when they are created. This allows similar objects to be created quickly without having to set data values for each one individually.

1. Set up a digitisation template.
2. From the Tools menu, choose Digitisation defaults.

   This displays the Digitisation Default Selection dialog.

3. In the Digitisation Default Selection dialog, load the digitisation template that contains the default values to be used for each object type.
4. Click OK.

To enable the use of default values

1. Right-click the GeoPlan and select Properties & Themes.
2. On the General tab, check the Initialise new objects with digitisation default values box.

Disabling the node naming dialog

This prevents the object name dialog appearing each time an object is created.

1. Right-click the GeoPlan and select Properties & Themes.
2. On the General tab, uncheck the Show creation page for new objects box.

Disabling the property sheet

This prevents the property sheet appearing each time an object is created.

1. Right-click the GeoPlan and select Properties & Themes.
2. On the General tab, uncheck the Show property page for new objects box.
