FAQ: How can I change the panel or circuit a device is assigned to?

Change the panel and circuits devices are attached to.

To change the circuit a device is assigned to

  1. Open the drawing with the devices to reassign.
    Note: The drawing must be associated with an Electrical Project Database (.epd) file.
  2. Enter CIRCUITASSIGN in the command line, select the devices and press Enter.
    If you want to... Then...
    assign the device/s to another circuit within the same panel enter the circuit number.
    assign the device/s to a circuit in another panel enter p to show all the panels and circuits in them. Specify the "panel name", to switch to that panel, and enter a circuit name under the panel.
    Note: If the circuits are overloaded, do not match the device type, or the circuit number in the new panel, then the devices will not be reassigned.
    assign the devices to a new panel enter CIRCUITMANAGER on the command line, and in the left pane of the Circuit Manager, create a new panel and assign circuits to it. Go to step 2 and follow the procedure.

To change the panel a device is assigned to

  1. Open the drawing with the devices to reassign.
    Note: The drawing must be associated with an Electrical Project Database (.epd) file.
  2. Enter PANELASSIGN in the command line, select the devices and press Enter.
  3. Enter the "Panel Name" you want to reassign the devices to, and press Enter.

    If the panel name is correct, a corresponding circuit exists in the panel, and the circuits matches the device types selected, devices are reassigned to the panel.
