Discover the display options for the 3D view.
The Settings Panel provides Model Viewer specific options and display settings to help review your designs. The following settings are available.
Visual Style. Specifies the visual style to display in the model viewer. Select one of the following options:
- Conceptual. Displays 3D objects using smooth shading and the Gooch face style. The Gooch face style transitions between cool and warm colors, rather than dark and light. The effect is less realistic, but it can make the details of the model easier to see.
- Hidden. Displays 3D objects using wireframe representation and hides lines representing back faces.
- Shaded. Displays 3D objects using smooth shading.
- Shaded with Edges. Displays 3D objects using smooth shading and visible edges.
- Wireframe. Displays 3D objects using lines and curves only. Draw order settings and fills from 2D solid objects are not displayed. The Wireframe visual style does not result in regenerating the view when you change the view direction as is the case with the 2D Wireframe visual style.

About Using Visual Styles.
Corridor Settings.
- Show Corridor Feature Lines. Displays corridor feature lines in the model viewer.
- Show Sections. Displays corridor section lines in the model viewer.
- Show Rendered Surfaces. Displays surfaces as rendered in the model viewer.
Note: Corridors in the Model Viewer are displayed similarly to corridor solids, with orphaned links and shapes visible for inspection, but corridor points hidden to reduce clutter. The color of the corridor solid is determined by the Model tab settings of the shape display components.
Tech Preview Features. Provides the display of additional drawing features that are being tested in the Civil 3D Model Viewer. Enabling this option may not display the desired results and cause performance issues.
Auto-Update. Allows real-time Model Viewer synchronization when editing the Civil 3D drawing.
