OpenFX is available as a Source Timeline FX, making it possible to apply an OpenFX plugin before the Resize and Timewarp Timeline FX.

To add a Source OpenFX Timeline FX:

  1. Open the Add Effect window.

    • Click the FX button in the Timeline FX ribbon.
    • Select Add Effect in a timeline segment's context menu.
    • Use the Ctrl+Tab keyboard shortcut.
  2. Click on the green OFX button.

To load a plugin, click the Load Plugin drop-down and select one of the plugins installed on your workstation.

For more information on the OpenFX support in Flame Family applications, see OpenFX.

Resolution Tokens

When a segment has both a Source OpenFX and a Resize Timeline FX, the resolution tokens used in an Effect File Path resolve to the source resolution of the segment.

On a Gap segment, the tokens resolve to its output resolution.

Transition Context

The Transition context of OpenFX plugins is not available on a Source OpenFX, making the Use Back option unavailable.

Timeline FX Output

An OpenFX plugin, which has a Matte output but no Matte input, now outputs a Matte in the Timeline.

Colour Management

Support for the OpenFX Colour Management suite has been added, allowing plugin developers to use the colour space information of a clip inside Flame Family applications.

For example, a plugin may only operate properly on clips tagged to a Log colour space. If clips tagged as scene-linear are used as inputs, the plugin may ask the application to convert them to a Log colour space, or the plugin may adjust its own processing accordingly.

Preserve Input Colour Space

Enable Preserve Input Colour Space in the Plugin menu to have the application undo any colour space conversion requested by the plugin.
