AVIO Updates
Indicates a feature suggested and voted up by users on the Flame Feedback portal.
The access to the Input and Output Clip modules has been deprecated and removed from the application. This includes:
- The Input Clip and Output Clip buttons from the Tools environment.
- The Capture button in the Import EDL module.
- The following Keyboard Shortcuts:
- Input Clip
- Input Clip with Source Timecode
- Output Clip to VTR
- Output Folder to VTR
- Mentions in various configuration files.
- The VTR settings in the Setup application.
Video Preview Timings
The SyncSource setting is now set to freesync by default for all Video Preview timings. These settings are persisted when upgrading to a new version of the application.
New Name for Components and Options
Changes have been made to names of AVIO options throughout the application. Highlights include:
- Project Management -> New -> Manage: Config Template to Preview Format.
- Preferences -> Project: The Broadcast Monitor tab to Video Monitoring.
- Preferences -> Project -> Video Monitoring: Broadcast Monitor to Video Preview Device.
- Preferences -> Project -> Video Monitoring: Broadcast Timing to Video Preview Format.
- Preferences -> Project -> Video Monitoring -> Monitoring Device -> devices names in the list:
- AJA Output to AJA.
- BMD Output to BMD.
- CDI Output to CDI.
- NDI Output to NDI.
- DVI/HDMI Output to DVI/HDMI.
- Off to Disabled.
- Preferences -> Project -> Video Monitoring: Broadcast Stereo to Stereo 3D Format.
- Preferences -> Project -> Video Monitoring: Broadcast Colour Space to Video Preview YCbCr Matrix.
- Player -> Viewing Settings: Compare Mode / Stereo to Compare Mode / Stereo 3D.
- Player -> Viewing Settings: SDI Preview to Video Preview.

Flame Family 2026 supports the Blackmagic Design Desktop Video SDK and driver version 14.4.1 on Rocky Linux and macOS.

Blackmagic Design Desktop Video 14.4.1 is also compatible with the 2025.x versions of Flame Family products.
