There are several tools available to join selected Incidents with other network objects:

Join selected incidents with pipes - used to automatically associate incidents with pipes by matching
the PLR / asset ID field of the incident to
the Asset ID field of a pipe (applicable to Collection Networks only)

Join selected incidents with assets - used to automatically associate incidents with the nearest asset within a user defined search radius of the incident

Join selected incidents with properties - used to automatically associate incidents with the nearest property
within a user defined search radius of the incident
Join selected incidents with pipes
This tool is applicable to Collection Networks only.
The Join Selected Incidents with Pipes tool can be used to automatically associate incidents with pipes by matching
the PLR / asset ID field of the incident to
the Asset ID field of a pipe.
To join incidents with pipes:
- Select the incidents to be associated with pipes
- Choose Join/Connect | Join selected incidents with
pipes from the Selection menu
- A log is displayed in the General
Text File View containing details of the number of successful associations
of incidents to pipes, number of failures and the cause of the failure.
Selected incident will not be associated with a pipe if:
- The incident is already associated with a pipe
- The incident has no PLR /
asset ID information
- The PLR / asset ID
of the incident does not match a pipe Asset ID
- The PLR / asset ID
of the incident matches with the Asset ID of
more than one pipe
Join selected incidents with assets
This tool is applicable to Collection and Distribution Networks
The Join Selected Incidents with Assets tool
can be used to automatically associate incidents with the nearest asset
within a user defined search radius of the incident.
To join incidents with assets:
- Select the incidents to be associated with assets
- Choose Join/Connect | Join selected incidents
with assets from the Selection menu.
The Join Incidents to Assets
Dialog is displayed.
- From the Join Incidents to
Assets Dialog
- Enter a Max distance to asset.
Only assets within the search radius distance of the incident will be
considered for joining with the incident.
- Check the Only join to selected
assets box, to restrict the assets to which incidents may be joined,
to the current selection.
- A summary is displayed containing details of the
number of successful associations of incidents to assets, number of incidents
already associated to assets, number of failures and reason for failures.
Selected incidents will not be associated with an asset if:
- The incident is already associated with an asset
- The nearest (selected) asset is outside of the
defined Max distance to asset
Join selected incidents with properties
This tool is applicable to Collection and Distribution Networks
The Join Selected Incidents with Properties tool
can be used to automatically associate incidents with the nearest property
within a user defined search radius of the incident.
To join incidents with properties:
- Select the incidents to be associated with properties
- Choose Join/Connect | Join selected incidents
with properties from the Selection menu.
The Join Incidents to Properties
Dialog is displayed.
- From the Join Incidents to
Properties Dialog
- Enter a Max distance to property.
Only properties within the search radius distance of the incident will be
considered for joining with the incident.
- Check the Only join to selected
properties box, to restrict the properties to which incidents may be joined,
to the current selection.
- A summary is displayed containing details of the
number of successful associations of incidents to properties, number of incidents
already associated to properties, number of failures and reason for failures.
Selected incidents will not be associated with a property if:
- The incident is already associated with a property
- The nearest (selected) property is outside of the
defined Max distance to property
