Control the display of the ViewCube, compass, and view projection mode.
On the ribbon View tab, Windows panel, User Interface drop-down menu, click, or clear ViewCube.
When cleared, the ViewCube is available on the Navigation Bar.
Right-click the ViewCube, and click Options.
In the ViewCube Options dialog box, under Compass, select, or clear the check box for Show the Compass.
When selected, the compass displays beneath the ViewCube, and indicates the direction of North for the model.
When cleared, the compass is hidden.
Click OK.
Right-click the ViewCube, and click Options.
In the ViewCube Options dialog box, under Display, select from the list:
Select from the corresponding drop-down list of options.
Click OK.
Right-click the ViewCube, and click one of the following options:
Right-click the ViewCube and click Lock to Current Selection.
If selected when a view orientation change occurs, the ViewCube uses the selected objects to calculate the center of the view. Then it zooms to the extents of the selected objects. When cleared, the ViewCube uses the selected objects to calculate the center of the view, and zooms to the extents of the model.
On the ViewCube menu, clear Lock to Current Selection.
