Select the Edit .cfg file command from the Report Generator toolbar.
Identify the CFG file to use:
On the Info tab, view the information displayed to ensure you have selected the correct configuration file. Scroll if necessary to read all the information. Click in the input area to add to or modify the text.
Click the Filter tab, and then select the items to process for the report:
Object filters sets the property name and value pairs to include or exclude from the report. Also specifies the property value used to group and calculate like objects. All settings are dependent on the properties you set on the harness object when it is created or edited.
Property Names sets which properties to include in the report. Check All to include all properties. Cancel the All selection to restrict reports to objects with a specific property name, and then specify the property name. Any harness objects with the specified property name are included.
Property Values sets which property values to include in the report. Check All to include all property values. Cancel the All selection to restrict reports to objects with a specific property value, and then specify the property value. Any harness objects with the specified property value are included.
Exclusion Property excludes objects with a specific property name and value. Enter the property name to exclude from the report. If desired, enter a property value to exclude. You must enter a property name before you can enter a property value. Any harness objects with the specified exclusion property name are not included in the report.
Quantity by property name sets a property value used to group like objects for quantity calculations. Enter any property name used in the Table tab.
For example, to get a quantity for a wire, you must set the property name to Part Number, and also include a Length or Adjusted Length column in the configuration file. Use the Table tab to add a Quantity column.
Select one or more object types to report on.
Set the property names and values to filter.
Click the Table tab and specify the properties and property values to include, and than add and remove columns as needed:
To add columns, click Insert Column , indicate the insertion location, and then click OK.
To delete columns, click Delete Column, specify the column to delete, and then click OK.
To enter data, click in the input boxes in each column, and then enter the data. If an arrow appears, click the arrow to select from the list.
Click the Format tab and fine-tune the output format by setting the sorting, multiple file handling, and formatting options.
Multiple files determines whether to generate multiple report files and how to handle them.
Placeholder sets whether to use a placeholder for repeated names. The placeholder is always used for blank values.
Click OK to display the Save As dialog box, and then save the file. Click Cancel to close the dialog box without any changes.
After you create your own custom configuration files, you can use those as a base for new reports or further customizations.
