Change display and update settings or defer updates in Tube and Pipe
You can prevent automatic updates to speed up the edits on the tube and pipe runs assembly. Before putting the tube and pipe defer updates into effect, note:
Right-click the Tube & Pipe Runs assembly, and then select Tube & Pipe Settings.
In the Tube & Pipe Settings dialog box, do either of the following:
Defer updates for the entire pipe run when you do not need to automatically update a large part of routes in the pipe run.
Activate the Tube & Pipe Runs assembly or the pipe run.
Do either of the following:
To prevent automatic updates on tube and pipe components in all routes under the pipe run, select the Route Objects Only check box on the context menu of the pipe run.
All routes in the pipe run are displayed as centerlines and only routes can update to changes.
To allow conduit parts and components in the pipe run to respond to changes, select the All Tube and Pipe Objects check box on the context menu of the pipe run.
You can change display and update setting for individual routes at the pipe run level. It overrides the setting at the tube and pipe runs assembly and pipe run levels, defer or allow specified routes in the pipe run to fully respond to changes. Note that the newly populated tube, pipe, and hose routes display as populated by default even when the parent pipe run is set to defer updates.
Activate the Tube & Pipe Runs assembly or the pipe run.
Do either of the following:
To defer automatic updates on tube and pipe components in the route, select the Route Objects Only check box on the context menu of the router.
The specified route is displayed as centerlines and underlying components are hidden.
To allow conduit parts and components in the pipe route to respond to changes, select the All Tube and Pipe Objects check box on the context menu of the route.
The specified route is displayed as populated.
