To access: Right-click the file name in the Autodesk Inventor browser or Windows Explorer, and select iProperties. The iProperties command is available for in-place editing of an assembly as well as in-place editing of a part. The type of file and the method you use to open the iProperties dialog box determines the available tabs.
Click one of the following iProperties tab names to view property definitions for that tab.
General: Shows the name, file type, and other statistics for the active Inventor file. You cannot change the settings on the General tab.
Project: Defines the project iProperties for the selected part, assembly, drawing, or template file. Use project iProperties to classify and manage files, search for files, create reports, and automatically update title blocks and parts lists in drawings and bills of materials in assemblies. Enter the desired information in the boxes.
Custom: Adds custom iProperties to the selected file. Use custom iProperties to classify and manage your files, search for files, create reports, and automatically update title blocks and parts lists in drawings and bills of materials in assemblies.
Physical Calculates physical and inertial properties for a part or assembly to demonstrate how differences in materials, analysis tolerances, and other values affect the model. For more information, see Physical tab.
Weld Bead: Controls characteristics for weld bead features in a weldment assembly weld bead group . Specifies whether solid fillet weld beads and cosmetic welds are visible and enabled. Also sets appearance of the weld bead material. For more information, see Weld Bead tab.
Status: Use the Status tab to view and set the status of a file. You can use status iProperties to classify and manage your files, search for files, create reports, and automatically update title blocks and parts lists in drawings and bills of materials in assemblies. In the Status field, enter any status classification.
Details: Shows check in and version information for the selected file.
Summary: Use the Summary tab to define summary iProperties for the selected part, assembly, drawing, or template file. You can use summary iProperties to classify and manage your, search for files, create reports, and automatically update title blocks and parts lists in drawings and bills of materials in assemblies. Enter the desired information in the boxes.
Occurrence: Controls characteristics for an individual occurrence of a component in an assembly. Specifies whether the component is visible, enabled, adaptive, grounded, or displays degrees of freedom. Sets occurrence name, appearance, and offset from parent assembly origin. Thumbnail: Shows the thumbnail image associated to the selected Autodesk Inventor file. Thumbnail images display when you use Design Assistant to work with files outside Autodesk Inventor.
Save: Specifies the source for creating the preview image of the model that displays in the Open dialog box, preview pane.
