Install Language Packs

How to install and uninstall language packs.

Each Autodesk product is installed with a default language. A language pack is a mechanism used by some products to provide another language for the user interface and the documentation. Each language pack contains only the text strings and documents required to support a user working in the specified language; it does not duplicate the core product software.

Language packs are about 200 MB in size, so they can be installed and uninstalled quickly. A single installed product can support several languages, enabling users to switch from one to another when required.

Install a Language Pack

During a deployment installation:
- Navigate to the Custom Install in the left pane, select the Inventor release version, expand the Language packs drop-down, and select the language packs to be installed.
- Or, navigate to the Product Updates in the left pane, and select the language packs to be installed.

Uninstall a Language Pack

Go to the Windows Start menu to choose the control panel to uninstall programs.
On the control panel, select the language pack you want to uninstall and click Uninstall.

Note: You can uninstall language packs without uninstalling the main product, but the default language--the one originally installed with the product--cannot be uninstalled separately from the product.
