MAPTOACADUSELINEWEIGHT (Use Lineweight command)

When you use the Save Current Map to AutoCAD wizard and specify the Editable conversion method, AutoCAD Map 3D toolset can use one of two AutoCAD methods for determining line width: Lineweight or PolylineWidth. By default, the wizard uses Lineweight. To change the line width method used by the wizard, at the Command prompt, enter MAPTOACADUSELINEWEIGHT and specify one of the possible values (Lineweight or PolylineWidth, abbreviated as L and P). The current setting is displayed between the angle brackets <>.

The differences between the two methods are as follows:

• Lineweights support only the range available in AutoCAD (0 to 2.11mm), whereas lines in AutoCAD Map 3D toolset can be from 0 to 0.5 meters wide.
• You can turn lineweight viewing on or off for an entire drawing, while PolylineWidth cannot be controlled globally.
• Lineweight is set by Device Space, so it displays the same thickness when you zoom in and out in AutoCAD (as it does in AutoCAD Map 3D toolset). PolylineWidth is set by Model/Map Space, so it changes size as you zoom.
• Lineweight displays rounded ends and joins (as does in AutoCAD Map 3D toolset), while PolylineWidth displays squared ends and joins.
• Lineweight displays in all views, while PolylineWidth displays only in plan view.
• You can use plot styles to adjust the plot width of lineweights, but PolylineWidth is always fixed. To change the way that PolylineWidth is plotted, zoom the drawing to the desired line width before plotting.
