To edit the chemical foaming agent properties

If the default properties do not reflect the properties of the chemical foaming agent you are using, you can edit them and save them under a new name. You can then use this material for all analyses in this study. To create a material for use in multiple studies, create a new database entry.

Prerequisites

This task assumes you have imported a 3D model, meshed it and checked the mesh for errors, and selected chemical foam molding as the molding process.

Steps

1. Click (Home tab > Molding Process Setup panel > Process Settings) then click Advanced Options.
2. Click Edit associated with Chemical foaming agent.
3. In the Description tab, enter a Name for the chemical foaming agent, and, optionally, provide information that will help you remember the material and the source of the data.
4. In the Kinetics tab enter Nth order reaction information for the calculation.
5. In the Thermal properties tab, enter the density of the foaming agent, and the specific heat of both the foaming agent and the foaming gas.
6. Click OK to accept the changes and close the Chemical foaming agent dialog.
