Create a new insulating material (EC3:2022)

If you are verifying members according to Eurocode 3 (EN 1993-2:2024), you can create new insulating materials.

Ensure that Steel/Aluminium Design is selected in the list of layouts.

1. Click Parameters in the Definitions dialog. The Member Definition - Parameters dialog displays.
   Note: Alternatively, click Design Steel Members Design - Options Code parameters to open the Member Type dialog, and then click .
2. Select Fire analysis parameters in the Member Definition - Parameters dialog, and then click Fire to open the fire resistance parameters dialog.
3. In the Basic parameters group, select Protected from the Steel member protection list.
4. Click New material. The New insulating materials dialog displays.
5. Select a group of materials from the list, or enter a new one.
6. Select a material from the list, or enter a new one.
7. Specify the required parameters for the material, and then click Add to database to save the new corrugated sheet to the database.
   Tip: To update the properties of the selected material, modify its parameters, and then click Add to database.

You can also use the New insulating materials dialog to delete insulating materials from the database:

1. Select the group of materials from which the material belongs to.
2. Select the material.
3. Click Delete from database.
