Saved view positions allow you to consistently place similar views across multiple sheets.
This video demonstrates the following:
As you compose sheets in your model, you may want to place various views of the model in consistent positions across multiple sheets. The view position can be saved and then assigned to multiple views to help maintain uniformity.
For example, this model has three floor plans, and we want all of them to be positioned in the lower-right corner on each sheet. Use the position of the first floor plan to establish the position of the other two floor plans.
In the sheet view, select the view. On the contextual tab of the ribbon, select Save Position. In the dialog box, type a name for the position. In this example, we will name the position "Floor Plans." The name is changed in the Saved Positions drop-down menu.
Right-click and create a new A0-sized sheet for the second floor plan. In the Project Browser, select the 02 - Floor view. On the Properties Palette, scroll down to the View to Sheet Positioning section. Use the drop-down menu to assign "Floor Plans" to the Saved Position parameter.
After the saved position is assigned, click and drag the 02 - Floor view from the Project Browser into the canvas to place the view. Because it is assigned the saved position, it is automatically placed on the sheet and aligned to the plan view on sheet A1. A similar process is done to add another sheet for the third floor plan.
To move the view on the sheet, select it and click Edit Position. Click and drag the view to the upper-right corner of the sheet and click Finish. A message is displayed alerting you that the saved position will be updated for all views in the model. Click OK. The floor plan views on the other sheets have been repositioned as well.
Use saved positions to layout sheets and keep views positioned consistently across multiple sheets.
