Follow these best practices when using Desktop Connector to link files in Revit.
- Always use External Resources for Revit Cloud Worksharing and Revit Cloud Models.
- Always use Desktop Connector for other file types (pdf, ACAD, etc.) for non-Revit files hosted to the cloud.
- Do not use the C: drive location for any workflow other than point clouds. Point clouds can be linked from Desktop Connector, the C: drive, a server, or anywhere that is consistent for all users.
- With point clouds, the root path for point clouds needs to be specified in the Revit options, so that the path is the same for all users. See
